Couple are stopped at BBC Prom for wearing Palestine pin

The Guardian reports that an elderly couple were refused entry last Friday to the Royal Albert Hall after stewards objected to the Palestine lapel badge they wore.

After 15 minutes a supervisor arrived and overturned the decision, allowing them to attend the concert.

“We felt extremely upset, not to say humiliated, by their behaviour towards us. I’m a middle-class ex-public school boy brought up to believe that Brits are decent and law abiding and that one can live one’s life freely,” said Roger Cauthery.
