The Concerto Vocale Foundation and the Tölzer Knabenchor are strongly distancing themselves from conductor Julian Wachner following his arrest in the USA. Wachner, who is accused of, among other things, possession of child pornography , had been working for the Bach Cantata Project since March 2025.
The Tölzer Knabenchor’s statement reads: “We have immediately ceased all contact with him and will not maintain any musical collaboration with Julian Wachner in the future.” The Concerto Vocale Foundation has also since separated from Wachner.
Wachner, former music director of Trinity Church Wall Street, is being held in Indianapolis on charges of buying child porn online.
