I recently wrote an organ chorale prelude for William Whitehead’s Orgelbüchlein Project which is completing Bach’s Orgelbüchlein, a set of chorale preludes for the church’s year which Bach planned out and started but never finished. My small contribution, the chorale prelude Sei gegrüßet, Jesu gütig is being premiered by organist Alexander Knight at St Paul’s Cathedral on Sunday 30 June 2024, before the 3pm evensong. Alexander will be playing a sequence of organ pieces in the thirty minutes before Evensong and my choral prelude will be included.
