Art collector, 89, is Salzburg’s main sponsor

The Würth Group has signed on to be the Salzburg Festival’s main sponsor from 2025.

The group is a $22 billion business that makes industrial and domestic attachments and owns a chair of appliance supermarkets.

Its chairman Reinhold Würth is a considerable art collector who has loaned major works to the city of Salzburg and elsewhere.

He said: ‘I have a great soft spot for the arts, for literature, architecture and music. To me, the latter is indeed the highest of all art forms and a special delight. If I can return home after a concert with a melody in my ear, that’s a particularly good day.’
