A garden party with Karajan, Furtwängler, Lipatti and friends

A garden party with Karajan, Furtwängler, Lipatti and friends

Mark Ainley from the Piano Files has posted the only known video of Dinu Lipatti to YouTube. It’s a private, silent film from the 1947 Lucerne festival and it features luminaries of those times.

The film was shot by the Lucerne lawyer Walter Strebi and conserved by his daughter, Ursula Jones.

The silent film starts here at 48:40.
