Disney’s violist, RIP

The influential California viola player Kay Pech has died, aged 87.

Kay was principal violist of the Disneyland Orchestra for 43 years. As a violinist, she was concertmaster of the Wichita Falls Symphony Orchestra in Texas, and a freelance in many more ensembles.

LA born, she taught for 70 years and founded the  Chamber Music Institute of Southern California.
