Musical chairs: New head of Gulbenkian

Musical chairs: New head of Gulbenkian

Fredrik Andersson, programme chief of the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic and its Konserthuset, is to be head of the well-funded Gulbenkian Music in Lisbon from next April.

He says: ‘I’m very excited and happy to become the next Director of Music at the Gulbenkian Foundation and I’m looking very much forward to work with the wonderful orchestra, chorus and all the staff at this amazing place!’

He succeeds the Finnish musician Risto Nieminen, who has held the job for 15 years.
