Were you part of this historic record?

January 24th marks the 50th anniversary of the bestselling solo piano album of all time: The Köln Concert, the iconic 1975 performance by Keith Jarrett at Köln Opera House. Famously, this late night concert almost didn’t happen, after Jarrett was presented with an unplayable rehearsal piano on the day of the performance.

To mark the 50th anniversary, British jazz pianist Dorian Ford, who began giving concert performances of Jarrett’s original improvised masterpiece in 2011, will play a tribute performance in Köln on the exact date of the original concert. In his performance, Köln Concert 50, Dorian uses the original concert as an inspirational springboard, weaving his own improvisational journey around the original, creating a unique blend of homage and innovation.

Dorian has extended an invitation to original audience members from the 1975 concert – if you were there, share your memories in an email to info@kolnconcert50.com to claim a free ticket.
