A major boost for Scottish mezzos

A major boost for Scottish mezzos

Friends have organised a new singing award for mezzo-sopranos in memory of Emma Kerr, a Glyndebourne chorus member who died tragically young during the collective Covid depression.

In her memory, Katie Grosset, Jo Padfield and Frazer Scott are organizing tribute concerts in London and Edinburgh. These concerts will celebrate Emma’s life while raising funds for the inaugural Emma Kerr Classical Singing Award for Mezzo Sopranos. This bursary will help Scottish mezzos to attend Oxenfoord Summer School, which is headed by Malcom Martineau.
