Message from the Czech Philharmonic:

Our chief conductor Semjon Byčkov underwent a planned hip surgery shortly after a successful American tour and is now recovering. Herbert Blomstedt and Nicolas Kraemer will take over January concerts.

So that’s a maestro of 97 replacing a youngster of 72.
