Yale chorus hires Norway footballer

Yale School of Music has appointed Grete Pedersen as principal conductor of Yale Schola Cantorum and professor in the practice of conducting at the Yale Institute of Sacred Music.

Pedersen, 64, has been artistic director of Det Norske Solistkor for the past 35 years, occasionally playing away as guest conductor with the BBC Singers.

In the 1980 Women’s Nordic Football Championship she was Norway’s creative midfielder, scoring the opening goal in the drawn match against Sweden.
