Dear Alma, This guy took me on a concert date. I ghosted him

Dear Alma, This guy took me on a concert date. I ghosted him

From our agony aunt:

Dear Alma,

A concertgoer waited to meet me after a concert several months ago. We went on several dates, and he is nice enough. It’s just not the perfect thing for me now, and I started to ignore his texts a couple of weeks ago, and now I have gone full “ghost”, ignoring his texts and blocking his number. He has tried to ask some of my colleagues what is going on but I just don’t have the energy to deal with it.

Am I a bad person?

Dear Am I a bad person?,

We have all probably been ghosted or have ghosted someone to some extent in our lives. It’s a terrible feeling for the recipient, and an easy way out for the perpetrator. Even if things didn’t progress that far (only a couple of dates), I would suggest getting your courage up and ending it cleanly and clearly, so the other person can move on with their lives, feeling closure.

You owe them that final message. If you leave it hanging, you will never forget it, and the other person certainly won’t.

Questions for Alma? Please put them in the comments section or send to DearAlmaQuery@gmail.com
