In Birmingham, an arena rock band bans all phones

The recent kerfuffles at the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra are having wider repercussions.

A Swedish rock group at the Utilita Arena caused long street queues by insisting that all patrons surrender their phones before entry.

From the Birmingham Mail:
Swedish rock band Ghost visited the city on Easter Sunday as part of their ‘Skeletour’ and the show almost sold out the city’s largest capacity arena outside of Villa Park Stadium.

The rule was strict, with signs in the arena warning that anyone caught using a phone in the space would be ejected.
