Not blowing his trumpet: Berlin Phil principal leaves to teach

We understand that Andre Schoch, principal of the Berlin Philharmonic, has left the orchestra to be professor of trumpet at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik in Mannheim.

Schoch, 37, joined the Berlin Phil in 2017 from the Hamburg Philharmonic State Orchestra.. He was one of the founders of the Philharmonic Brass ensemble, made up of members of the Berlin and Vienna orchestras.
