The NY Times has a soft feature today about its favourite pianist Jeremy Denk choosing a new piano for the Frick.

He has a choice of three, all Steinways.

America knows no other concert brand.

But what will happen when tariffs hit piano imports from Germany and China?

Time could be ticking for the dominant brand.
