Another huge gift for Jacksonville as music department shuts down

The Jacksonville Symphony in Florida, which recently banked an anonymous $15 million donation, has just received a $3 million top-up from the Terry Family Foundation. The orchestra says: ‘This remarkable gift will strengthen the Symphony’s long-term financial stability while enhancing both its artistic impact and performance space. A portion of the funds will support the esteemed Symphony’s Pops Series, further advancing the orchestra’s artistic excellence.’ That’s nice.

Meanwhile, Jackssonville last week announced it was shutting down its music department.
