Breaking: Ex-Cleveland concertmaster is Hamburg’s new leader

Breaking: Ex-Cleveland concertmaster is Hamburg’s new leader

David Radzynski writes: ‘Excited to share that I’ve been appointed concertmaster of the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchester!’

Radzynski, previously concertmaster of the Israel Philharmonic, stayed less than two years in Cleveland.

The NDR, with Alan Gilbert as music director, may prove a friendlier environment.

Radzynski will take up the position of First Concertmaster in two months time. The seat has been vacant for two years since the retirement of Roland Greutter, who held the post for more than 40 years.

Congratulations are due all round.
