Martha Argerich and the Noh actor

Martha Argerich and the Noh actor

The pianist has been telling a Tokyo press conference how much she learned about cultural exchange by performing with Japanese Noh actor and national treasure, Bunzo Otsuki.

He said: ‘ I was able to act to the sound of Argerich’s playing with ease.’

She said: ‘It was a wonderful dialogue. I was always very fascinated by Noh theater. This time, I felt really honored and grateful to share the stage with Maestro Otsuki.’

A film of their performance has been directed by Martha’s daughter, Stephanie Argerich.
