Vienna Phil drops Offenbach in mourning gesture

Vienna Phil drops Offenbach in mourning gesture

The orchestra has made one change to tonight’s midsummernight concert, reflecting national mourning for victims of this week’s Graz school shooting.

The one work to be dropped is Jacques Offenbach’s Can Can.

Other jollies like Otto Nicolai’s Merry Wives of Windsor overture and the baccahnale from Saint-Saens’ Samson et Delila remain.

Enjoy.
