Man pleads guilty to stabbing Maestro in New York

Man pleads guilty to stabbing Maestro in New York

You may recall the horrendous and unprovoked knife attack suffered by the Ecuadorian conductor Dante Anzolini almost two years ago in the Bronx. Dante has yet to recover fully from the assault.

He tells us: ‘On February 22,  2025 I went back to Carnegie Hall, conducted the excellent Orchestra of Saint Luke’s, a Chorale and two young excellent singers in a long program: the experience was not as aching as before. I could not use my fingers with total freedom, and turning the pages was almost normal.’ We wish him a complete recovery.

Meanwhile, the perpetrator pleaded innoc ent and walked free. He has now changed his plea to guilty of Second Degree Assault with Intent to Cause Physical Injury with a Weapon.

He will be sentenced on September 24.

Justice? Don’t even go there.
