Chicago Symphony mourns a violinist

The death has been made known of Fox Fehling, a CSO violinist from 1979 until her retirement three years ago.

Fox was 76.

Originally from Iowa, she was the first winner of the Mische Elman Award in New York. Fox played in the Lyric Opera orchestra before winning a seat in Solti’s band as she turned 30.
