A British conductor and music scholar dies, 79

We are sorry to learn of the death of conductor and writer Christopher Fifield, author of fine biographies of the German composer Max Bruch and conductor Hans Richter.

Christopher conducted the Lambeth Orchestra in South London for 40 years.

He served 12 years on the music staff at Glyndebourne.

The funeral service is at Beckenham Crematorium on Tuesday 25th February 2025 at 2pm.
