Aigul can’t get French visa

Aigul can’t get French visa

The Barber of Seville opened at the Opéra de Paris last nigtht without its intended Rosina.

The Russian mezzo-soprano Aigul Akhmetshina was unable to obtain a visa in time to enter France.

She says:

Dear friends,
I’m really sad to announce that I won’t be able to sing the first night of Il Barbiere di Siviglia at the Opera Bastille this
Saturday – as I’m still waiting for my visa…‍♀

Thank you so much to the theatre for all their support and understanding during this stressful time. And a big thank you to the amazing Isabel Leonard @isabelleonardny for
stepping in!

I’m sending lots of love and good luck to my wonderful colleagues – I know it will be a beautiful performance.✨

Fingers crossed that I’ be able to sing the second show.
I really hope to join you very soon.
