All concerts and opera are cancelled in Graz

All concerts and opera are cancelled in Graz

Yesterday’s school shooting, which took 11 lives, has paralysed Austria’s second largest city. All public entertainments have been called off this week, starting with Handel’s Giulio Cesare at the opera.

Across the rest of Austria, performances are to begin with a minute’s silence.

Next April in New York, the Met will stage Kaija Saariaho’s school-shooting opera, Innocence.
