An English cathedral loses all its organists

Lang Lang runs Olympic relay

Alarming news from St Albans, historic seat of the first British saint:

Oliver Morrell, St Albans organ scholar, is moving to Winchester (together with Andrew Lucas) to take up the newly-advertised Sub-Organist position.

Tom Winpenny has announced, a few days ago, that he will leave his post as Assistant Master of the Music and Director of the Cathedral Girls’ choir at the end of August.

That means St Albans has lost all three of its organists in a month.

Did nobody notice?
