Anna Netrebko takes new role in Berlin

The half-banned Russian soprano will singer her first Amelia in Verdi’s Un ballo in maschera in the coming season at Staatsoper under den Linden, rolled out yesterday by her loyal supporter, Christian Thielemann.

The newly installed music director will conduct Wagner’s Ring. Simon Keenlyside will sing Wozzeck. Roberto Alagna and Aigul Akhmetshina will appear in the haircut opera, Samson et Dalila.
