Bayreuth pals offer a million bucks to bring Thielemann back

The Society of Friends of Bayreuth has offered Katharina Wagner an extra million euros to reverse a significant cut in her 2026 anniversary year plans.

They have specifically demanded the restoration of Tobias Kratzer’s Tannhäuser production and of Lohengrin, conducted by Christian Thielemann.

No pressure, then.

Katie has yet to comment.
