BBC chief quits

The BBC’s chief content officer Charlotte Moore resigned today to join Sony Pictures.

Moore, 56, had been seen as the likely next D-G, successor-in-waiting to Tim Davie (pic).

She has been with the BBC for 19 years, becoming its first Director of Content in 2016. Her departure, which shakes up the power structure on the top floor of BH, is unconnected to the recent takedown of a Gaza film fronted by a Hamas leader’s son. She was notably supportive of recent reforms in the BBC’s classical music properties.
