Biz news: Agency loses US star

Biz news: Agency loses US star

The New York office of the German agency K D Schmid has suffered an embarrassing walkout by the prominent American pianist Jonathan Biss.

Last night Biss signed with the Colbert agency, saying: “I’m very excited to begin this new partnership with Lee Prinz and the Colbert Artists Management team. From the moment Lee and I started talking, I felt we understood one another, and that he was completely appreciative of my one true professional goal: to make meaningful music. I’m looking forward to many happy and productive years ahead.”

The issue appears to be personal to the New York office. Biss, 44, has decided to keep his international career in the hands of Schmid’s London office.
