Word is going round that Andrew S. Grossman has died.
Grossman was one of the last surviving ex-directors of the all-powerful Columbia Artists Management Inc, not exactly jumping off the deck of the Titanic but being escorted off the premises by security guards.
Grossman was a force of nature. In his prime, heavy staplers would go flying across the office. His rhetoric was also life-threatening. But he performed useful functions, brought in new business, turned a healthy profit and continued working freelance for J-J Cebron at Cami-continuity late into his 70s.
While receiving cancer treatment, Grossman conttracted an infection. He was admitted to a New York hospital, where he died on Monday.
