Bocelli to perform at Metropolitan Opera

Tickets go on sale today for an October 5 operatic aria recital at the Met by the Italian singer Andrea Bocelli.

The one-night stand, organised by the Met, will be accompanied by members of the Met Opera orchestra, conducted by Steven Mercurio.

Bocelli, 66, will make the Met a stop-off on a sweeping US tour.

On previous appearances at the Met, he has appeared with other soloists. This will be his one-man debut show.

Comment is practically superfluous.
