Brazil mourns foremost pianist

The death has been communicated of Arthur Moreira Lima, a leading Brazilian pianist who came second to Martha Argerich in the 1965 Chopin Competition in Warsaw.

Arthur recorded the complete works of Chopin over the next decade, along with works by Brazilian composers. He travelled the vast country, playing to remote communities.

Arthur Moreira Lima was 84 at his passing.
