Bychkov and Vengerov cancel, Israel Phil postpones opener

Bychkov and Vengerov cancel, Israel Phil postpones opener

The Israel Philharmonic has pushed back its season-opening concert to November 4, due to artist cancellations and other considerations.

Maxim Vengerov can’t make the date and will be replaced in the Mendelssohn concerto by Mark Bouchkov.

Semyon Bychkov has told the orchestra he’s not quite ready to return after back surgery. Lahav Shani will conduct Mahler 6.
