Canadian orch appoints … Canadian

The Edmonton Symphony Orchestra has named Jean-Marie Zeitouni as its next music director.

Zeitouni, 51, from Montreal, has been music director of the Columbus Symphony and principal conductor and artistic director of I Musici de Montréal.

The Edmonton podium has been vacant for three years since the Englishman Alexander Prior departed.
