We reported in December that the Venezuelan violinist, Gabriela Lara, concertmaster of the Chicago Civic Orchestra, was Klaus Mäkelä’s first hire at the Chicago Symphony.
It now turns out she is the first Latina in the orchestra.
What took them so long?
