The third page of the Times this morning is occupied by two stories that are not news.
The first concerns a virtual reality device that is being pioneered by the Orchestra de la Suisse Romande, hardly one of the world’s regular trail-blazers.
The second is a plan by the pianist Igor Levit to play Satie’s Vexations 840 times and all by himself, something no sane person has done before.
Both stories are puffed-up gimmicks.
It’s a shame this is the only way the heat-seeking Levit can claim public attention.
