Cleveland abolishes faculty senate, promises ‘shared governance’

Cleveland abolishes faculty senate, promises ‘shared governance’

A message to faculty from board chair Susan Rothman announced the replacement of the faculty senate with a ‘transitional faculty council’, comprising five teachers and three administrators.

This, she pledges, is a step towards shared governance.

Since the senate was toothless there is no reasons to expect more from the TFC.

The faculty has passed an overwhelming no-confidence vote in Paul Hogle’s administration.

Rothman is principal donor and Hogle’s main backer.
