Concertmaster to head LA Academy

Concertmaster to head LA Academy

The Colburn School’s Music Academy is to be headed by the US violinist Margaret Batjer, concertmaster of the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra since 1998.

Batjer, 65, will give up her professorship at USC Thornton School of Music but will continue to play, apparently with the LACO.
