Conductor makes Concertgebouw debut five years late

The seasoned Korean conductor Han-Na Chang was due to make her first appearance with the Amsterdam orchestra  in 2020, when Covid lockdown forced a posatponement.

It has taken the Dutch five years to re-engage her, and for a non-mainstream concert. They really know hhow to make an artist feel welcome, don’t they?

From the press release:

The concert on 21 June marks the current season’s final concert in the Essentials series, especially for young and inexperienced concert audiences. That concert starts at 9 p.m. (45 minutes later than most other concerts) with a creative introduction to the music by presenter Thomas Vanderveken. After the concert, there will be an opportunity to mingle and chat with a drink or two at Entrée Café, organised by youth association Entrée.
