Czech coloratura, 92

The impressive soprano Helena Tattermuschová, outstanding in Janacek and Mozart roles, has died at 92.

Her recording of the title role in Cunning Little Vixen reaped international awards. She also caught the eye as the boy Aljeja in the all-male cast of Janáček’s From the House of the Dead at the 1964 Edinburgh Festival.
