Dear Alma, There a star stalker in my orchestra

Dear Alma, There a star stalker in my orchestra

Dear Alma,

There is a member of our orchestra who constantly engages with our soloists. It’s very annoying to be around, he shows signed photos to us and brags about it. I am sure the soloists don’t like to be badgered. It’s embarrassing. Just let them do their jobs.

Not Star Struck

Dear Not Star Struck,

It’s a shame that your colleague doesn’t know how to respect the soloists. There is nothing wrong with congratulating someone on a job well-done, but asking for autographs at work is not professional. It’s best, however, to not address this personally. Go to the admin and mention your concerns, and let them work on this issue.

Not Star Struck, in the mean time, take a big breath and try to realize that your colleague is excited about music and the wonderful guests that perform with your orchestra. They just need a little guidance to help them channel their interests in a more professional manner.

Questions for Alma? Please put them in the comments section or send to DearAlmaQuery@gmail.com
