Denmark suffers second music loss

In the week that composer Per Nørgård passed away, we are informed of the death of the important conductor Tamás Vetö. He died a week after his 90th birthday.

A fugitive from the 1956 Hungarian revolution, Tamás Vetö was conductor of the Odense Symphony Orchestra in thr 1980s and worked with orchestras, opera and choruses around the country. He led performances of Wagner ‘s Ring of the Nibelung at Jutland Opera.

He made recordings for EMI, Philips, Unicorn and Da Capo.
