Embattled Baltimore concertmaster steps down after 25 years

In the orchetra’s hot seat since 2001, the violinist Jonathan Carney will retire as concertmaster of the Baltimore Symphony in 2027, it was announced today.

Carney, 62, had been suspended in the past over claims of sexual harrassment by the principal oboe and other allegations of misconduct.
