Eminent harpsichordist, 85

Eminent harpsichordist, 85

We have been notified of the death of Alan Cuckston, a widely recorded English harpsichordist and pianist.

Born in Leeds, he toured with the Academy of St Martin-in-the-Fields and Pro Cantione Antiqua and recorded much solo repertoire, including the complete piano music of Alan Rawsthorne. He was especially prolific in the early years of the Naxos label.
