Ex-Berlin Phil star appeals for new works

Messge from Parma Recordings:

We’re excited to announce a new featured recording opportunity with internationally acclaimed horn soloist Radek Baborák, one of the most distinguished figures on the global classical stage. This opportunity invites composers to record original works for horn (solo or in chamber settings) alongside Baborák and his hand-picked collaborators in Prague, culminating in a professionally produced release and a public concert.

Recording & Performance Structure

Selected pieces will be recorded individually in an efficient and artistically focused process at Studio Martínek, a state-of-the-art facility in Prague known for its natural acoustics and breathtaking main hall. The final program will culminate in a public concert in Prague upon release of all recordings.

Eligible Works

We are currently seeking original compositions or arrangements that feature horn in any of the following contexts:

  • Solo horn
  • Horn and piano
  • Horn within chamber ensemble
  • Larger ensemble works may be considered on a case-by-case basis. All submissions will be reviewed for technical feasibility, musical compatibility, and recording logistics.

Why Submit?

  • Collaborate with a World-Class Performer: Your music will be brought to life by one of the leading horn players of our time, supported by experienced studio professionals in Prague.
  • Flexible Scheduling: A rolling session schedule allows for individualized production timelines and artistic focus.
  • Global Reach: Recordings will be released by Navona Records, with full promotional support including curated press outreach, digital marketing, and radio servicing.
  • Immersive Audio: Optional Dolby Atmos mixing and immersive audio release are available, expanding the artistic and spatial possibilities of your music.
  • Concert Presentation: Selected works will be featured in a Prague concert showcasing the complete program of the project.
  • Artistic Control: Composers maintain full ownership of their music and recorded masters, and retain final artistic approval on all post-production.
