France to pay more for music at funerals

France to pay more for music at funerals

From Le Figaro:

The Funeral Directors’ Federations has reached agreement with Sacem on a royalty on music broadcast during ceremonies. This represents an extra 700,000 and 800,000 euros per year for the rights agency.

Each funeral will cost funeral directors an extra 5 euros on average. The additional cost will be passed on to mourners.
