The young German conductor Christian Blex has been awarded the coveted Karajan prize at the Salzburg festival.
Blex, a former assistant to Kirill Pdetrenko at the Berlin Philharmonic, is presently assistant conductor of the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester.
