Germans demote an Italian GMD

Germans demote an Italian GMD

The state has stepped in to resolve a conflict at the Kassel State Theatre between the intendant Florian Lutz and the Generalmusikdirektor Franceso Angelico.

The Minister of Culture of the state of Hesse Timon Gremmels has decided in favour of the non-musician.

Lutz keeps his job. Angelico, 47, is demoted to chief conductor and confined to symphony concerts. His concert expires next year and will not be renewed.
