Greek baton rising in Bavaria

The next Generalmusikdirector of the Lower Bavarian Landestheater is to be the Greek conductor Elisa Gogou. She will succeed Basil Coleman in 2026.

Gogou, 50, was selected from among 110 applicants. Formerly a pianist, she has conducted in Erfurt, Meiningen, Bielefeld and Dessau and was selected unanimously by the Bavarian musicians.
