Guess what? Houthi leader is a fan of the BBC Philharmonic

In the darkened backroom of the BBC’s northern orchestra, brows are furrowed over the identity of a new supporter.

The orchestra has been paying an agency to boost social media engagement. Its Facebook followers have boomed – now there’s a good Trump word – from 9,000 to 161,000 ardent clickers in a matter of six months.

Using a magnifying glass, you might recognise him from the BBC News.

It’s the chief aide to the Houthi Grand Mufti of Yemen, the one who keeps trying to sink our shipping.

This may occasion mild embarrassment to the BBC’s orchestral Webb master.
